As a young student (many decades ago), a basement chemistry lab furnished by my pharmacist father would lead to a B&W darkroom and an appreciation of the properties of oil paint. A drawing course at Fairleigh Dickinson University in the 1970s helped me sketch and shade to render realistic results. Another art history course on European masters, along with visits to art museums, inspired me to work in watercolor, pastel, and oils.
I now capture digital photos in my paintings. I have exhibited my paintings in Bergen County, NJ, art shows and at the Art Center of Northern New Jersey in New Milford and have received commissions for painting travel landscapes and high school athletes.
I aim to add beauty and inspiration to people’s lives and to create a legacy in some small way for those who enjoy painted imagery. Landscapes, portraits, sports, and cultural and religious themes enable me to express myself visually.
